President Irro Undertakes Official Visit to Immigration and Border Control Headquarters

His Excellency, President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), today conducted an official visit to the headquarters of the Immigration and Border Control forces in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.

Upon his arrival, President Irro was warmly received by Major General Mohamed Hussein Farah (Xiirane), the Commander of the Immigration and Border Control forces, along with other senior officials. The President was honored with a ceremonial guard by a unit of the force and proceeded to inspect the facilities and operational areas.

During the visit, President Irro acknowledged the vital role played by the Immigration and Border Control forces in safeguarding national security. He highlighted their significant responsibilities, including overseeing border activities, managing travel documents, and ensuring the protection of citizens’ data. The President emphasized their critical tasks, such as the issuance and verification of visas and passports, as well as securing the borders and preventing illegal movement.

The President expressed his admiration for the professionalism, energy, and dedication demonstrated by the personnel within the Immigration force. He praised the team’s skills and youthful enthusiasm, underscoring the high level of competence and commitment required to uphold the nation’s security.

In conclusion, President Irro commended the Immigration and Border Control forces for their continued service to the nation. He was accompanied during the visit by the Ministers of the Interior and Defense, the Mayor of Hargeisa, the Governor of Maroodi-Jeeh, as well as senior military and government officials.
