Somaliland: President Bihi Inspects Several Gov’t Facilities

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, today inspected a number of government facilities, including the Fire Brigade Command, the Somaliland Immigration and Border Protection Command, the Ministry of Council Relations and Constitutional Affairs, and the Refugee Agency. The President was accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, the Chief of Police, Major General Mohamed Aden Sagadhi Dabagale and the Chief of National Intelligence.

The President first visited the Fire Brigade Headquarters and was welcomed by the Commander of the Fire Brigade, Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed Hassan (Swahili) who briefed the President on their day to day operations and the important work they are doing for the Somaliland community, particularly in the capital, Hargeisa.  

Speaking on the occasion, the President thanked the Fire Brigade for its dedicated work for the nation. In his remarks, President Bihi said, “First of all I would like to congratulate the Fire Brigade on their hard work and dedication. My special congratulations to the Commander who started this work and has today reached all the regions and major cities of Somaliland. I urge you all to expand further on the work you are doing and to continue to educate young people, as they are our future.”

Finally, the President inspected the Immigration and Border Protection Command of the Republic of Somaliland. The President was greeted by members of the Immigration and Border Protection Units, and was briefed by the Chief of Immigration and Border Protection, Brigadier General Dayin Osman Alin. The President thanked the Somaliland Immigration and Border Protection Force for their outstanding work of keeping an eye on those entering and leaving the country.
