The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland convened today for its 12th session at the Presidential Palace, chaired by His Excellency President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro). The meeting addressed key national priorities, with discussions focusing on security, economic growth, infrastructure, and governance.

Key Resolutions and Briefings:

🔹 National Security & Stability:
The Minister of Interior and Security presented an assessment of Somaliland’s security landscape, reaffirming that the country remains stable and secure.

🔹 Public Health & Emergency Response:
The Minister of Health Development provided an update on the nation’s healthcare status, outlining critical challenges in the eastern regions and necessary interventions. He also reported on his recent visit to Sabo-Wanaag.

🔹 Technical & Vocational Education:
The Minister of Education and Science presented an evaluation of Somaliland’s technical schools, their curricula, and infrastructure, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing vocational training opportunities.

🔹 Water Security & Infrastructure Development:
The Minister of Water Resources briefed the Cabinet on ongoing and completed water projects, including new initiatives launched in Erigavo, and upcoming efforts to improve water accessibility across the western regions.

🔹 100-Day Government Agenda:
The Minister of Planning and National Development outlined the administration’s strategic roadmap for the first 100 days, detailing initiatives to strengthen governance, accelerate economic progress, and empower national institutions.

🔹 Aviation & International Travel Regulations:
The Minister of Civil Aviation and Airport Development highlighted ongoing efforts to streamline Somaliland’s aviation sector, facilitate international flights, and enhance compliance with updated travel regulations. All international airlines operating in Somaliland have been briefed on entry requirements and immigration policies.

🔹 Government Transparency & Communication:
The Minister of the Presidency discussed the coordination of ministerial reports and communication strategies to ensure effective public engagement and transparency in the government’s 100-day commitments.

🔹 Economic Growth & Revenue Collection:
The Minister of Finance and Economic Development presented an update on financial performance, tax reforms, and enhancements in revenue collection, particularly in the administration of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

🔹 Peacebuilding & National Security Initiatives:
President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) briefed the Cabinet on recent peacebuilding efforts in Erigavo and ongoing military integration programs, emphasizing that these initiatives are progressing as planned. Further steps will be taken to strengthen national unity and stability.

Presidential Closing Remarks

In his concluding address, President Irro commended the government for its dedication to Somaliland’s development and stability. He particularly praised the Vice President and his delegation for their leadership in the Erigavo peace process, which is nearing a successful resolution.
