Somaliland: President Endorses UCMAS Program, Vows Nationwide Expansion

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, today welcomed the leadership, teachers, students, and parents of the UCMAS program to the Presidential Palace. UCMAS is a program designed to enhance the intellectual abilities of children aged between five and thirteen.

The meeting was opened by Said Mohamed Mahmoud, the director and founder of the program, who expressed his gratitude to the President for the warm reception and recognition given to UCMAS. He provided an overview of how the program educates students and develops children’s cognitive abilities, particularly in mathematics. He also highlighted that in 2023, UCMAS students participated in a competition held in Malaysia, where they achieved third place.

Additionally, he announced that in 2024, the team is prepared to compete in another international competition in India, for which they have been invited. He expressed hope that they would bring home success while representing the Republic of Somaliland.

In his remarks, President Muse Bihi Abdi praised the UCMAS program for its role in nurturing children’s intellectual development. He pledged that the program would be incorporated into the national education curriculum next year, ensuring it reaches all regions of the country.
