President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) Strengthens Economic and Diplomatic Relations During UAE Visit

His Excellency, President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), is currently undertaking an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he engaged in a highly productive meeting with Sultan Al Mansouri, the Head of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Business Bank.

The discussions primarily focused on enhancing economic relations and exploring avenues for strategic collaboration in the areas of business, development, and investment. Key areas of discussion included strategies for boosting trade, attracting investment from the UAE, and advancing critical sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, energy, education, and the empowerment of Somaliland’s banking sector. Additionally, both sides explored ways to facilitate direct business connections between Dubai and Somaliland, aiming to create long-term economic benefits.

The President highlighted Somaliland’s strategic position, abundant investment opportunities, and the potential for creating a favorable business environment that would drive economic growth and prosperity for both nations.

Both parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to deepening economic cooperation, expanding business opportunities, and building a prosperous future through continued collaboration.

In a separate engagement, President Irro met with the Senegalese delegation attending the World Governments Forum in Dubai 2025. The discussion centered on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Somaliland and Senegal, focusing on areas such as business, governance, education, social development, and broader diplomatic relations.

The President emphasized the importance of revitalizing the longstanding ties between the two countries and accelerating cooperation in areas of mutual interest, paving the way for an even stronger partnership.
