His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, has inaugurated a new building for the Local Government Institute (LGI) in Hargeisa. The LGI will train local government workers in the country.
This event was attended by the President of the Republic, ministers, mayors along with a number of other gov’t officials and distinguished guests. There were various officials who spoke at the ceremony about the importance of this new building for the local government and the Somaliland nation as a whole.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Bihi thanked everyone who participated in the implementation of this institution which is expected to improve the skills and knowledge of local government workers. The President also pointed out how this institution serves as an example of the steps taken towards the development of our government.
Finally, the President concluded his speech with a special message to the youth of Somaliland. In his remarks, President Bihi said, “I urge our youth, especially those in universities, to fight for the development of their government and country. There is nothing we cannot achieve if we are united.”
