Somaliland: President Strengthens Humanitarian Partnerships During UAE Visit

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), continues his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, engaging in high-level discussions with key humanitarian and relief organizations to enhance cooperation in critical areas of emergency response and social welfare.

As part of his engagements, President Irro held a strategic meeting with DP World Foundation, where discussions centered on strengthening humanitarian partnerships between Somaliland and international aid organizations. Speaking on the occasion, Latifa Al Qemzi, Director General of DP World Foundation, stated, “It was an honor to meet with H.E. President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) during the World Governments Summit and explore ways to support humanitarian initiatives in Somaliland.”

Accompanying President Irro in the discussions were senior officials, including:

  • Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai
  • Mohammad Musabeh Dhahi, Head of the Charitable Work Department
  • Butti Abdulla Al Jumairi, Executive Director of the Corporate Social Support Department
  • Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, Member of the Charitable Affairs Committee at Dar Al Ber Society

The meeting resulted in a renewed commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Government of Somaliland, DP World Foundation, and IACAD. The discussions focused on expanding joint relief efforts, enhancing emergency response mechanisms, and addressing humanitarian needs through sustainable and coordinated initiatives.

The Government of Somaliland remains dedicated to fostering global partnerships that contribute to the well-being of its citizens and ensure timely humanitarian support in times of need.
