The Somaliland government operates with a distinct and independent Executive Branch, clearly separated from the legislative and judicial branches of government. The democratically elected President is in charge of this Executive Branch, also referred to as "the Government" of Somaliland. At the helm of the Executive Branch is the President, alongside the Vice President. Both positions are filled through democratic elections, reflecting the will and aspirations of the Somaliland people.
